what I want you've got and it might be hard to handle While the midterms were only a month away, Natalie had no trouble pretending that they were beyond her reach. She had risen from her ill mood and found herself on a much more merrier road. She had a crush on a boy. And of course she had, she was a teenager! She went around crushing every now and again, but this time she was sure she had truly found someone charming. Regardless, she couldn’t stop thinking about him, or singing when she took a shower, or stop herself from doodling little hearts on the transfiguration assignment for this week. The girl was smitten, and indeed cheerfully annoying. Adding this little crush in with her average, overly odd and cheerful self, she seemed almost too ecstatic for one person to honestly be.
The girl nearly skipped down the hall. Her friends were almost tired of her constantly cheerful company, yet they did not shun her, for she was truly a very kind and whimsical person, with a tongue that could hold a monologue for a great length of time. The petite blonde walked briskly down the hall. She had a free period between Herbology and Muggle Studies. She knees and clothes were smeared with dirt from the greenhouses, and she had a kind of moist and damp, earthly smell about her mixed in with her normal strawberry scented shampoo. The dirt did not bother her, and Catherine had made sure to really get it all on her. Sometimes Natalie felt more like Catherine’s little sister than her younger cousin the way she treated her. They really were more like sisters than cousins, and since Natalie had always wanted a brother or a sister, she had no trouble making Catherine her adoptive one.
For her free period she really should have studied, and she initially did walk towards the library, but she came to a sudden halt, feeling the urge to do something wicked instead. She spun around and met the eyes of one of her classmates. She smiled wickedly and walked up to them.

1881, Albus Dumbledore is born.
11th century, Chamber of Secrets is created.
1326, Nicholas Flamel is born.
At this point in time, his mind was just spewing out random facts. He was not surprised that it was historical facts spilling out of his brain and rushing to the fore front of his mind. He wasn't an expert in ancient history for nothing. Granted, most of the facts were not related to his specific field of expertise but he blamed that on having just revised for History of Magic. His brain was in full gear, releasing so many facts that he was subconsciously mumbling them aloud now as he rushed out of the Ravenclaw Common Room with two books in hand. He had changed his sweaty T-shirt to a regular white one as well. The boy hardly wanted to walk around the school in a filthy and sweaty T-shirt. To be honest, he was surprised he had sweat so much anyway; he hadn't realized that he had run so much. To study, Sami usually spent a good amount of time reading books and then he would immediately after, go for a run. During this run, the information seemed to stick into his mind much easier.
Now that he had finished revising and running for History of Magic, Sami decided to revise for Muggle Studies since that was his next class anyway. The two books he had taken from his trunk in the Ravenclaw dormitories included a book on Muggle Studies and a notebook with a pen clipped onto the front. He was headed for the library, his pace matching with the slew of facts that were running through his mind. He did not notice - nor would he have cared about - the people giving him strange looks as he mumbled when passing them. He probably sounded delusional. The boy barely saw where he was going: his feet just knew where the library was and his subconscious made sure he didn't run into anyone.
"When mating, Erumpents have a tendency to blow each other up..." mumbled Sami as he turned a corner. For a split second, he wondered how he had remembered something from Care of Magical Creatures when he absolutely loathed the class. Some facts must have stuck. He mentally shrugged and continued in his hurried pace. It almost felt like his mind was reassuring him of what it knew and neatly organizing it all. Like, it was looking to make room for more and more knowledge. Sami smiled a little. Sometimes, he couldn't help but love how his mind worked. It was so brilliant and mercifully held so much room for more.
Suddenly, his feet abruptly stopped him as a face dangerously close to him came into view. He had almost been daydreaming so when Natalie had walked up to him, it hadn't processed in his brain until she was very close. The tiny smile was still on his face, frozen in shock, as she stood there. He blinked a few times and opened his mouth a little to speak but nothing came out. Sami took an awkward, slow step back and his face finally thawed. The smile melted from his face to be replaced by a confused frown.
"W-what?" he said.

what I want you've got and it might be hard to handle “Hiya Sami,” Natalie said cheerfully, almost with a bounce as she came to a halt in front of him. Natalie had the tendency to step into people’s comfort zones. It wasn’t something she intentionally did out of malice; it was just that her comfort zone didn’t seem to match other people’s comfort zones. Perhaps somewhere deep inside Natalie knew that her behaviour was perhaps a little intense for shy people to comprehend, but she couldn’t help herself. So when Sami stepped back, Natalie equally instinctively stepped forth. “Did I say that right, Sami, I mean, is there any other way to say it?” she asked, sincerely curious. Her childlike curiosity shone in her eyes. That was a great thing about Natalie. Her emotions were always frank. Not devious, not false or deceiving, just honest.
The petite blonde tilted her head a little. “So, what do you think of our new Muggle Studies Professor? He seems really strict, don’t you think?” she chatted on, a cute, ponderous expression on her face. She was a beam of light, with her cheerful and carefree mood. However, her personality could be a little overwhelming for the average person, let alone shy boys. Natalie was unaware of her affect on people, besides the fact that she knew some people found her weird, or a little eccentric. In her eyes she was simply being unafraid to make a connection to other people, and frankly, people should be more open to get to know other people, especially classmates.

The girl in front of him was the typical blond beauty: bubbly, outgoing and talkative. Sami guessed as much just from looking at her. He blinked twice, surprised and now nervous, when she said hello to him. Had his frown not been enough of a deterrence? He wasn't good at this; he wasn't good at talking to strangers. He could barely remember her name and yet she knew his. But she had only said hello. Perhaps the hello had been socially demanded of her: she had felt compelled to greet him as he had been in her way. Perhaps she would not continue. Perhaps this was all and she would just walk past him. Sami relaxed and actually allowed a small smile to touch his lips as he prepared to greet her back.
When she took a step forward, his eyes widened slightly with surprise and he quickly glanced at their shoes to see how close they were. The Ravenclaw boy stared at her lips as words began tumbling out of her mouth. Questions. Sami took a small step back and, to his utter horror, hit the wall behind him. There was no escape from this social situation. He cleared his throat and cough into his fist before turning back to her with a slightly serious and slightly nervous look on his face. "It is actually pronounced Sah-MEE. But I don't care how people pronounce it. Hey at least it's not Xavier or something, right?" he replied with a nervous laugh at the end. Somebody kill me right now. XAVIER?! He had no idea where that last sentence came from but he already knew it was awkward.
As to the topic of the new Muggle Studies Professor, Sami relaxed a bit since he had talked to his friends about this before. He figured he could just use the same lines he had said to them. "I think Professor Fairfax will be a nice change for once. Nobody takes Muggle Studies seriously but I feel the man will. Besides, being strict isn't a bad thing. At least then some people will actually learn." Sami exclaimed with a short, bitter laugh. It took only two seconds to realize that he probably sounded like a rude jerk just then in front of this girl that he hardly knew. He sighed to himself in defeat. No matter how many times he reminded himself that first impressions were everything, he could never seem to give anyone a good first impression.

what I want you've got and it might be hard to handle It was strange. Natalie never saw herself as a popular, blonde beauty, which some people thought. Sure she was outgoing, had lots of friends and was somehow always in the centre of attention, but that was only because she demanded so. In fact, Natalie was stranger than your typical blonde beauty. She was quirky, intense and had had her fair share of troubles. The oddest thing about her was apparent lack of self-consciousness. She was very easy going that way. She spoke when she spoke and said what she said without being afraid of her words, in fact she loved her words, they empowered her, and not in a power-hungry kind of way, no, just, she seemed to be a very capable and independent young woman. Although sometimes it just seemed like she had a lot of say in a very short time.
Natalie frowned a little and smiled. “Sah-MEE,” she repeated with great enthusiasm. She laughed a little at his example and nodded. “I suppose you get kinda tired of people mispronouncing your name. I’m sure I would’ve thrown a fit if people repeatedly mispronounced my name, not that Natalie’s that hard to pronounce, I think,” she jabbed on, unaware of how close she was standing to the boy. In her mind she was not standing too close for it to be uncomfortable. She just stood how she normally would’ve, which was perhaps just a bit closer than normal people, at least close enough so that other people noted it.
The little blonde looked up at Sami, as he was several inches taller than her bare 160cm length. She tilted her head a little, a quizzical look on her face. “I suppose that’s one way you can look at it,” she said sceptically, but then cracked a smile. “Honestly, muggle studies are a little boring. I’ve grown up in a muggle family so most of the things they talk about in class are things I already know. Probably why I seem so lazy, but honestly, it’s one of the subjects I do best in,” she said with a shrug. She had only chosen muggle studies because she knew she could get a free pass on it. It had been tactical of her. she was already struggling with the other subject, no need to willingly add another really advanced class just to barely pass it when she could focus on the really difficult classes and easily pass muggle studies. “Did you grow up on a magical family?” Natalie asked curiously, shifting her weight a little from one hip to the other as she said so. The girl barely stood still for long.

He couldn't understand what her motive was for talking to him. It had seemed like she had struck a very random conversation with no purpose, which baffled him. How could anyone just approach someone for no reason at all? The only reason he was confused was because he would never have done what she had. He was not social if he did not have to be and he certainly did not strike up conversations with strangers. And anyway, if he did talk to anyone outside of his very tight group of friends it would be for a very specific reason as he knew he lacked everyday social skills. At this moment in time, he was struggling to figure out how to continue the conversation so as not to look like a moron in front of an obviously popular girl.
She had pronounced his name correctly the second time but he felt a bit uncomfortable hearing his name come from her lips when he didn't even know hers. It was almost as if she was beginning to mentally strip him of his secrets, making him feel slightly naked. At that last thought, Sami coughed into his hand again, his ears hot with embarrassment. He thrust the thought away and quickly resumed listening to her. He sighed mentally with relief when she mentioned her name and relaxed a little. At least now they were even. The name fit her, in his opinion.
Sami wondered how she would respond to his opinion on Professor Fairfax. It had seemed a little rude but she didn't seem too put out by his comments. The boy frowned slightly as she spoke. He didn't particularly like knowing that people took certain classes just because they were easy to pass. It felt like someone was cheating themselves from knowledge. For example, Natalie could have taken a class that she knew nothing about to learn but instead she was taking a class that would give a great mark but she would learn nothing. He understood why some people did it but it made him sad to know it was happening.
Her last question caught him by surprise but when he relaxed his face suddenly grew serious. He did not like talking about his family because it was so complicated but he felt he should give her something. "Yeah I did... but my father is Muggle-born so... well I know the Muggle life too. A-and..." he started, suddenly stopping for a brief second because his voice got caught in his throat. "... I-I like Muggle sports," he managed to blurt out randomly. The boy looked defeated as he stared at his shoes after speaking. He had felt compelled to say something after 'and' but nothing had been coming out so he had said the first thing that popped into his mind.

what I want you've got and it might be hard to handle Natalie was unaware of how her respond might be portrayed in other people’s eyes. In her opinion she did not try and “cheat” her way out of anything, and it never even crossed her mind that others might look at it in that way. Although her nature was flimsy and ditzy, and her mood was almost annoyingly cheerful, she was a very rational and logical being, much more logical than your average Hufflepuff. To her it was perfectly sound. Firstly, she applied to her strengths. Muggle Studies definitely applied to her strengths, and she could use her muggle-born heritage to her advantage. Secondly, Natalie was realistic about her future and her scholar subjects. She was well aware that she was not the strongest person academically, and it didn’t even matter if she spent as much time on her work as the top graded students, she would never be as skilled as they were. So, Natalie figured that instead of taking a course that she knew absolutely nothing about, she would take something she was good at so that she cound dedicate her time to try and get at least a few top marks in her core classes instead of just getting average in all classes. If Sami had asked, she would’ve been happy to enlighten him on this view on life. Natalie was not the dumb blonde that so many people mistook her for.
The girl smiled at the boy she had cornered against the wall. He was cute, she remarked. Very shy, but cute. He stuttered and blushed and showed all signs of being awkward, yet it didn’t occur to Natalie to leave the poor guy alone. Although she probably could’ve guessed that her presence had persistence was causing the comfortableness in the Ravenclaw, she didn’t spend much time on the why.
“I love muggle sports too!” Natalie exclaimed, but then corrected herself. “Well, not aaaall of the sports, but I really love playing volleyball,” she admitted with a grin, fondly remembering lazy summer days playing outside with her neighbourhood friends. She frowned a little. “I wish we had more optional sports here at Hogwarts too, I mean, not everyone loooooves Quidditch,” she said with a roll of her eyes. It was ironic that she said this because she did in fact love to play Quidditch. She was quite athletic that way, but her true passion lay in dancing. Watching her dance was like watching a flower unfold. She transformed from this goofy, cute, little blonde to a graceful view to behold.

Sami was trying his best to recall the list of conversation starters he had made a while ago which is why he had blurted out his love of Muggle sports so suddenly: talking about each other's interests was on that list. In his mind, Sami was wondering why he had to suffer in this social interaction. On the one hand, he was grateful that he was getting some practice to improve his social skills. On the other hand, why did it have to be a girl? Females baffled him more than any thing in the entire world, and he hardly liked to admit this to anyone. If a male had been standing before him, he might have been less nervous. Perhaps he could pretend she was a man? He emerged from his thoughts and stared at her as she talked about volleyball, wondering if it would be possible. He mentally shook his head in frustration. No, there was not even one bit of masculinity on her. At least some girls had uni-brows or more chiseled jaws - slightly masculine characteristics for Sami - to fuel his imagination. But Natalie was such a... girl. Never had he been so disappointed.
He wasn't too surprised that she had declared her love for Muggle sports as well. If he could recall correctly, she was on a Quidditch team at the school. He couldn't remember what position or what House but now that he was trying to remember, he thought he had seen her on the pitch once or twice. Suddenly, after thinking about how he should reply to her, he was aware again of how close she was to him. The Ravenclaw slowly, trying not to make his action noticed, grabbed his two books with his other hand as well so that they were now held in front of him as if he was trying to create a barrier between the two. He couldn't help it; the action made him more comfortable. He exhaled, not realizing that he had held his breath out of nervousness for so long, and decided to give his opinion.
"Volleyball is easy," he drawled with a know-it-all smile, "Try football. Now that's a good game," he said with sudden confidence. This was a debate he had with his friends a lot so the topic made him comfortable. "Have you played before? Are you any good? Not many people play it here so we can never make any teams..." he added with a frown, remembering the times he and his friends had unsuccessfully tried to make proper teams. He was speaking now as if he was talking to his friend so all the stuttering and nervousness was gone for the moment. Especially since he was now talking about a real problem he and his friends were having at the moment. [ooc: By football, he means soccer. ;D ]

what I want you've got and it might be hard to handle The little blonde almost threw a fit when Sami said volleyball was easy, and it showed on her playfully shocked face. He obviously had no idea what he was talking about! Natalie had taken a few volleyball courses when she lived in the muggle community, and it was not as “easy” as school-volleyball. There lay precision and hard work behind a good tactical move, not to mention stamina and agility. She actually resented playing with people who had only played in school and thought they were champions in a game they had absolutely no clue about. “Oh my gaaawd,” Natalie dragged out, rolling her icy blue eyes playfully. “Volleyball is not easy. It’s easy if you wanna suck at it, which you obviously do,” she exclaimed with a smirk. “Besides, you can't compare volleyball and football, they’re not even in the same range. For one thing volleyball is played with your arms, not your feet,” she pointed out. She could be quite stubborn when it came to certain matters, matters that occupied her interest. She might not be as brainy as your average Ravenclaw, but she did know her fair share of things. Her irrational rational mind also it possible for her to see the difference in the sports and she could see how the one would appeal where the other wouldn’t.
Talking to strangers came naturally to Natalie. Sami might think he was a bad conversationalist, but with Natalie as a conversational partner talked would be easy. Although not a bulletproof theory, it was safe to assume that even the shyest person would be able to talk freely with Natalie. She was just very easy to talk to, very open and forthcoming, very natural. She was however ruthless in her pursuit of a conversation, and whether she realised it or not her persistence often brought out the best conversations in people. She was always somehow able to make the ball go back and forth between a conversing pair.
Natalie shrugged a little. “I know the game, but it’s not my favourite,” she said with a sneaky smile. “I suppose we are too few muggle-raised students, or students familiar with muggle sports, which kinda sucks,” she said, a little saddened by the idea. She then shrugged and perked up. “Oh, well, at least we get by with Quidditch,” she said, knowing full and well that he was a beater on the Ravenclaw team, but if he was aware of her status on her house team was an entirely different thing. "But anyways, if we get enough people we can still just play football fun sometime," she said smiling brightly.

Sami shook his head with a smile as she defended volleyball. Of course, he knew how to play volleyball but it was not his favourite sport. In fact, one of his older cousins taught him the game as a young child. In his opinion, it just wasn't challenging enough. Football was rough; he had sprained and broken a few bones in the past while playing. Football demanded energy, quick decisions and skill that many did not possess. The game was simply beautiful in the Ravenclaw's eyes. So perhaps Natalie was right: one could not compare the two sports because football was in a whole other league. It was an absolute shame that the sport often lost it's beauty once Quidditch was introduced to young kids. Football was such an old sport and it hardly deserved how it was treated by some Magical folk.
Surprising himself, he understood her shocked face to be only playful and so he did not worry about offending her. As a result, he had felt confident enough to shake his head in front of her, revealing his negative feelings on her favourite sport. He was actually starting to feel a little more comfortable speaking to her now that they were talking about things that he knew about. Perhaps it was because he could detect a healthy debate coming now that they had shared their opinions on a topic. And God knows, Sami loved to argue. He was not going to let her go now that the argument had started.
He couldn't hide the surprise on his face when she practically offered to play when them. He had never really played seriously with a girl before. Sure, during family outings, his female cousins joined in but they were not usually any good or they were simply too young to take the sport seriously. He wondered how his friends would react to him having recruited a girl like Natalie. They would probably think he was blackmailing her. Sami shook his head again and realized she had finished talking. "Look, I don't mean to be...well... mean but come on, volleyball is nowhere near as physical and dangerous as football. It's practically a basic fact, Natalie," he boasted with a smirk, attempting to cross his arms against his chest. Forgetting he had his books in his hands, he accidentally let go and they fell on their feet.
Nervous and alarmed again, Sami quickly bent down to attempt to pick them up. Because he had been straight against the wall, when he bent down he fell forward a little so that his head accidentally hit her in the stomach. "S-Sorry!" he exclaimed and stood back up, forgetting the books on the ground. Horrified at what was happening and how foolish he probably looked right then, he wandlessly called the books to his hand with a levitation spell. He held them against his chest and stared at her, waiting breathlessly for her reaction to his actions.

what I want you've got and it might be hard to handle If anyone had told Natalie that she brought out the best in people she would’ve laughed at them and told them that they were all capable of doing it themselves without her help, but that she would be flattered that they felt that way. Natalie was quite humbled that way, or just determined not to take credit. She enjoyed talking with people, connecting with them and just getting to know them, or to continue knowing them. She found great pleasure in the company of other people, and she dreaded being left alone. Perhaps that was why she did not mind engaging in conversations with people she barely knew. Regardless, the debate that was coming on was one that Natalie could engage in, at least for the time being. Who knew how long her attention span would last for this conversation. Natalie rolled her eyes. “I never said volleyball was as dangerous, I just pointed out that it wasn’t nearly as easy as you would like it to be,” she said, one of her eyebrows popping up daringly. She was just about to go on at length about another technical thing that was wrong about his statement when the poor lad dropped his books. Befuddled he dropped to the floor, his head somehow crashing into the stomach, knocking her to the ground. She fell flat on her bottom, her satchel dropped to the floor and she heard a vial of potion break inside it. Natalie sat for a moment quite bedazzled at what had just happened. She sat on her bottom, leaning on her arms, her legs were bent, a little apart, probably giving Sami a good look at her panties by the angle he was standing. Her cute, cream white panties with light pink trimmings. The girl suddenly realized the compromising position she was in and smacked her legs together, bursting out in laughter. Her laughter rolled off her tongue and into the hallway, a contagious and cheerful sound that made people who walked by unable to hide their smile. “You’re such a klutz, even worse than me,” she managed gasp in between laughter. Natalie wiped away a tear from her eye, having laughed so hard, and got to her feet. “Is your head ok? I hope my rock hard abs didn’t give you a concussion or something,” she giggled with a tease.

She had fallen. He had hurt a girl. He, a male, had hurt a girl, a female. Growing up, it was the first thing he had been taught not to do.
He had not been aware that she had fallen until he had gotten up and the books had jumped into his hands. He had been much too preoccupied with trying to get the books back into his now sweaty hands. It wasn't his fault; she hadn't made a sound when she had fallen and he had been too focused on not looking like any more of a fool than he already seemed to be. Now, as he stood staring down at her with a horrified look on his face, his eyes accidentally fell on her panties. If it were humanly possible his eyes would have fallen out of their sockets right then. He slowly turned bright red, his cheeks probably flaming hot to touch. The panties were pink and white, and, unfortunately, he didn't think he would ever forget them.
Sami quickly looked away, wanting to cover his eyes so people didn't think he was a pervert but stopped, thankfully remembering the books in his hands. If he had dropped them on her a second time, he would have killed himself. He had never felt so embarrassed in his life. The boy looked around, realizing people were now staring, and wished he could throw and Invisibility Cloak on himself. The awkward Ravenclaw didn't feel he could even offer her his hand up: he thought he might blow up with embarrassment if he touched her. He turned slightly to the side and did not look at her as she laughed and spoke. He tucked the books under his arm and covered his face with one hand.
"Have I melted into a gooey pile of nothing yet? Please tell me I have, Natalie," he cried earnestly through his hand.

what I want you've got and it might be hard to handle It would be safe to assume that there did not exist an embarrassing part anywhere in Natalie’s body. She was a free spirit, and very comfortable with that notion. In that regard she was not like every other teenager, especially girls. Natalie was not embarrassed about her body, nor did she think she had an ugly body. In fact she was under the impression that most people found her body quite desirable. Her aunt’s views on the natural body and the beauty of nature had rubbed off on Natalie, making her proud of her own body and sexuality. So, flashing her cute panties was hardly something that phased the young teen, despite the obvious effect it had had on the lad before her. Besides, it was not like she had done it intentionally, it had sort of just happened as she fell to the floor; it wasn’t her fault that school policy dictated that all girls must wear skirts.
Natalie had not taken notice to people who had stopped and stared at them. She was so used to people, or perhaps not phased by them, that she paid no attention to them. Perhaps both an advantage, as she minded her own business, and a disadvantage, as she did not notice the scene that had been caused. Anyone but Natalie would’ve understood the awkwardness of what was happening.
Whether or not Natalie realised that Sami had, intentionally or not, ogled her panties she did not let on. Instead she laughed a little at his comment. It was harmless, what had happened, and so she looked quizzically at him. “Melt? There’s no reason to melt,” she laughed, reaching out to pull his hand from his face, unaware what her skin-to-skin touch might do to him. “It could’ve happened to anyone,” she said softly, smiling gently at him.

People were staring at him and they were noticing him, but for all the wrong reasons. Sure, Sami liked attention but only when it came to academic things like scoring the highest grade in a test or creating the perfect potion. But this was social attention and he hated it. He watched between two fingers, his hand still on his face, as some students gave him a dirty look. Others were standing metres away, giggling and pointing. He knew how it looked like: a nerd that had purposely knocked over a blonde beauty to see her panties. A nerd that should have been honoured to be spoken to by Natalie but was instead acting like a pervert. This was not how he ever wanted anyone to see him. Because he was dramatic sometimes, the Ravenclaw felt like everyone around him - and probably anyone else that later hears the story - was losing respect for him. Respect that he had attempted to build since first year. He sighed as she spoke, obviously having gotten up by now as her voice seemed closer. At least she was laughing and not hurt.
He didn't know how it could get any worse.
But then she touched his hand and Sami lost control of his body. The touch seemed to burn his hand. He literally jumped back from her touch and, since there was only a wall behind him, hit the back of his head hard on the wall. Suddenly, for a brief second, his vision went black and then he opened his eyes again. He had slid down to the floor, his books sprawled on the ground, and his head spinning. "I-I'm okay," he managed to croak out. Sami tried to get up, leaving the books on the ground, but instantly fell back down on his knees. He was seeing double but he was determined to keep his eyes open. The Ravenclaw wanted to get out of the situation more desperately than ever. He wished one of his friends could walk by and help him to the Ravenclaw tower. If Natalie tried helping, he didn't know what else would happen.
The books could go burn in Satan's pit for all he cared at that moment. He never wanted to see them again.

what I want you've got and it might be hard to handle Natalie’s cheerful mood was usually enough to make people smile, however it suddenly dawned on Natalie that the boy in front of her seemed very uncomfortable. Perhaps it was just that Natalie was slow to register these kinds of things, or maybe it was just because she genuinely did not pay attention to emotions like that because she wanted the other person to know that it was okay to be comfortable around her, either way, Natalie was just now starting to read the signs in front of her. The boy was clearly embarrassed, his head red as a tomato, his entire body tense and awkward and his gaze kept falling to the ground as if he was ashamed. All this she saw, and yet she could not fathom why he had been left with such an impression. She stared at him, an incredulous look on her face. Why was he so upset?
When the boy had literally jumped back by her sudden touch Natalie was left momentarily shocked. She blinked, trying to gather her fleeting thoughts. Was it possible that she was the reason he was acting this way? No no no, but, obviously something had him riled up, and, he obviously did not like that she touched him. Did she repulse him, was that why he had recoiled? As the thought was planted in her mind her mood changed instantly. Just like her aunt she had drastic mood changes, and although not always as serious, still as vivid as the next emotion, and a hurt look flashed across her face. Her face was hurt, and concerned. She looked at the boy in front of her, the mess he was in, and she looked around, seeing people staring. Suddenly she realized how this must look. It probably looked like she was trying to beat him up. Her mood changed again and she almost laughed out loud. Sami was at least a head taller than her. She changed her expression and glared at the people around them. “What are you staring at? Move along!” she snapped fiercely, and a few student actually jumped and blushed by her sudden coolness. The group around them started to dissolve and Natalie knelt down in front of Sami, making sure her skirts didn’t misbehave and show anyone her panties again, and that she didn’t make physical contact with him.
“I can see that you’re upset,” she said softly, only loud enough for him to hear, a little awkwardly. Silence followed and she wrecked her brain for something soothing to say. She immediately thought of Olivia and how she had tried to cheer up Natalie, and she words came plumping out of her mouth. “Want to go and have a pitcher of margarita?” she asked, unaware of her mistake. In her mind she had asked Sami if he wanted to go get some tea, but since the conversation with Olivia had ended with Natalie wanting booze, the words had just slipped out. Natalie realised her mistake a few seconds later and gasped, unable to hide her wide smile. “OH! I meant tea, tea, do you want to get some tea,” she asked panicked, yet with laughter in her voice.
