Sami sat on the ground with his knees tucked in as close to his body as possible and his arms hugging his legs. He hid his face by burying his head in between his legs. The boy had seen many people sitting on the ground in the hallways before so it wouldn't be so strange for him to do it. Besides, his head was still spinning a bit and he could feel a bump forming on the back of is head so there was no way out of the situation. He couldn't just get up and leave so he figured he should just stay until his head felt better. And Natalie could leave. He was surprised she still hadn't figured out how uncomfortable and embarrassed he was. If she had, she would have left, wouldn't she have?
Sami felt a little alarmed as she started telling people to stop staring at them. He sighed and shook his head, knowing how pathetic he probably looked in front of guys. Here he was, practically curled up in a ball and looking beat up, while a girl defended him and attempted to dispel any rumours. He couldn't think of an "unmanly" a man as him, Sami himself. It didn't help that she was laughing too. It only reminded him of how stupid he was acting. Suddenly, her voice was right in front of him but he did not dare look up. He rested his face on his knees and nodded when she stated that he was upset. Upset was an understatement but at least she was starting to understand. Still, he didn't like how close she was to him. What was wrong with standing?
When she said margarita and switched to 'tea', he flipped out again. Sami stood up suddenly, panicking and thinking she was going to poison him if he went with her. He looked scared and alarmed again. "No, no, no, no. I'm fine. I totally forgot that I need to be at... that place... to do the thing. So... bye!" he cried, hurriedly. Head still spinning, Sami gave her two thumbs up before beginning to quickly flee the scene, leaving behind his books.
[ooc: honestly, i think he's done. he can't stand it all anymore. Consider him officially gone from the thread, except maybe if you can figure out a reason to stay. ]

There really wasn’t that much for Olivia to be doing in that moment. For one of the new times that month she was actually currently all caught up on her homework for that day. So instead of studying or anything of that nature she was debating if she wanted to treat herself with a little something. Perhaps a latte at the student café on the second floor or something. She wasn’t certain yet, so as she was walking she was humming softly to herself with a light bounce in her step. However, the step was cut off when she turned the corner to be met with a fleeing Ravenclaw. Fleeing was the only word she could think to apply if the look on his expression was anything to go by. Olivia recognized him easily from classes.
“Sami! Are you all right?” she asked, concern in her voice. She had only skewered his name slightly in her pronunciation—she actually liked his name, so she tried her best to pay attention to how it was suppose to be pronounced. She had no idea that her presence might be unwanted by the Ravenclaw given the encounter he was just fleeing from with Natalie, and Olivia being another girl might not be the company he desired. As it was, Olivia glanced behind him to see her friend in the background.
Being friends with Natalie, it didn’t take Olivia long to make some sort of connections. Although she wasn’t sure if those connections were right. So, for the moment she held her tongue.

what I want you've got and it might be hard to handle A puzzled and confused look was spread across the blondes face. She furrowed her brows quizzically. She had only meant well, but it seemed that the boy misread everything that she did. The girl was truly innocent in her intentions, regardless of what the other lad thought. The boy’s behaviour was probably a mix of his own foolish pride meeting the opposite nature of Natalie, not that this thought ever occurred to her. She was ponderous over the boy’s actions, and frankly, a little hurt. At least the boy could be civil with her, but he had stormed off so fast that she hadn’t even gotten the time to stand up and bid him adieu. She was still hunched over, hugging her knees.
Natalie stood up and looked over her shoulder to where Sami had run off. Her pale, blue eyes spotted him; he had been stopped. Her eyes immediately recognized Olivia, her best friend. A slight smile spread across Natalie’s face and she started to walk. The girl stopped straight in her tracks, frozen to the ground. A moment of clarity. Perhaps she shouldn’t walk over to her best friend who was talking with the guy who had just run away from her. She stood there, frowning, dead in her tracks in the middle of the hall. Perhaps she would just wait here till Olivia came over to her, or the two of them left. So, Natalie stood waiting, monitoring the situation from a little distance.

Sami did not think about the fact that he was offending Natalie. Actually, he hardly cared. All he knew right then was that he had to leave. Perhaps when he was alone and given a moment to catch his breath, he would realize how inaccurately he had behaved in such a social interaction. Perhaps later he would even offer an apology to her but then also never go near her again. How could he possibly face someone he had looked a fool in front of and had had to apologize to? The boy was simply not good at interacting with people without having a reason to because when there was a motive he would practice what to say, at least. But for now, his head was throbbing and he was in full fight-or-flight mode.
Of course, however, he was foolish to think it was easy to get away after having offended a girl. The boy stopped in his tracks as another girl called his name and halted in front of him, seemingly concerned. He recognized her face as well but also did not know her name. Another girl that knew his name but whom he did not know. His eyes widened and he took a few small steps back. "F-fine. I'm quite alright, really," he replied with a strained smile. His usually unnoticeable facial tick - his one eyebrow sometimes would rapidly move up and down when he was tired or stressed - suddenly became spastic. Sami turned around, wanting to go the other way but of course Natalie was behind him. Suddenly, all his old adventure and mystery stories came back to him. This felt staged, almost planned.
Sami was still facing the other girl but he looked over his shoulder as he addressed Natalie. "Um, do you two know each other by any chance?" he asked almost nervously.

Olivia frowned looking at the boy in front of her. His words in a direct contradiction to his appearance. However, she wasn’t naïve enough not to realize that perhaps he was trying to avoid talking about it, or rather he just wanted to get away. However, the Gryffindor was still concerned. “Are you sure? You look a bit pale … Do you want to sit down or something? I was going to head to the Café to get a latte, maybe a tea or something will help soothe your nerves? My uncle always states that the right drink can cure anything…” Olivia didn’t mean to babble, but she was easy to distract, and so it wasn’t that difficult for her to keep talking, heading off on a tangent if one wasn’t careful enough to direct her back to the conversation at hand.
As it was, at that moment, Sami had spoken again, asking her if she knew Natalie—or if Natalie knew her? Olivia wasn’t certain who the question was actually directed at. Olivia furrowed her brows in confusion. “Of course I know, Natalie. We’re in the same year and we have classes together. Just like we have a few classes with you.” Her mind did not automatically jump to the conclusion that Sami may had been asking if she was friends with the other girl. Instead, Olivia just found it odd for him to ask such a thing. They were all in the same year, after all. Sure, they were in different houses, but they still had some of the same classes together.
“Oh, Merlin!” she then exclaimed softly, “What did Natalie do now? Do I need to hit her upside the head to knock some sense into her or something?” she inquired of Sami. “You really can’t take everything she says seriously, as she’s a bit of an odd duck… not that I’m much better,” she then admitted with, what she hoped was, a reassuring smile to the Ravenclaw. By now she was sure that Natalie had put her foot into her own mouth—so to speak—in regards to Sami.

what I want you've got and it might be hard to handle The blonde was baffled to say the least. She honestly did not understood what could’ve possessed Sami rush away in such a fashion. She sulked, aimlessly dabbing her right foot against the cold, stone floor. She sighed audibly, loudly, much like a cat showing her distain towards something with her entire body language. Sometimes these random encounters bothered her. They truly did. She was quite touchy that way, which was probably not the best combo as she was prone to striking up conversations with strangers when they might not like it. So, when a random conversation turned strange like this, she wasn’t entirely sure whom to blame for it. In her eyes she was a delight. Honestly though, what had set him off? One moment they were talking about sports and the next he was bolting for the hills. She did not understand him, nor people like him. As open minded as she was she did not understand why people would actually bolt the way he had, nor did it cross her mind that he had stupid male chauvinist who was unable to receive any sort of aid from the opposite sex. Had she known, she might not have struck up a conversation with him at all as her free-spirited mind repelled all sort of discrimination.
Natalie walked a couple of times back and forth between the walls of the halls before she settled for the wall on the left side of the hall. She leaned her back against the cool bricks, a painting on her left telling her not to lean against it but then changed it to a scold about how she was blocking his view. Natalie hushed him irritably and sent a long, hard stare in the direction of Sami and Olivia. Why was she was so much more pleasant to talk to than her? Natalie poke her brain. It might be that despite how free spirited Olivia might be, she was still more civil and had a better social radar than Natalie did. It had been pointed out to Natalie on several occations that she tened to breech the normal confort zone of ordinary people. When she tried to explain to them that she was being perfectly confortable all the time, they only explained to Natalie how her comfort zone was very, very different from other people’s comfort zones. Olivia’s only, how to put it, social oddity, was perhaps that she babbled on for too long.
“Young lady, did you not hear me? Move!” the old man in the picture scolded at Natalie. Her shoulder was blocking his view. Natalie frowned. “Shut it old man,” she hissed, her eyes never leaving Sami and Olivia. She looked very much like an annoyed cat, incredibly cute and not at all intimidating despite her display.
[ooc: to anyone who might feel like it, you're more than welcome to join in, perhaps hear Natalie's annoyed sigh, or see her glaring at Olivia and Sami further up the hall and ask her about it...?]

Everything was much worse for Sami because he could never remember anyone's names even though these girls obviously remembered him. He remembered their faces - now that he took the effort to - but he couldn't put a name to them. It was a curse that seemed to run in his family. He ran a hand through his hair, pulling his hair a bit and wondering again how he had gotten himself in such a mess. He felt surrounded with Natalie behind him and this new girl in front of him. It couldn't be a coincidence that two girls had actually willingly approached him like this. He racked his brain for a motive but he couldn't understand what they would want with him.
The new girl, meanwhile, actually seemed concerned which rather confused him at first. She began speaking, words pouring out of her mouth, and Sami was forced to listen. The Ravenclaw tensed when he heard the word "tea" again. How could they both mention the same beverage? This situation was far from a coincidence it seemed. The boy was on edge again as she continued talking and he kept glancing behind and around her for the socially acceptable way out: spotting a friend and going to them. He focused on her again when she admitted to knowing Natalie. So he was right. Something was definitely going on here. Sami slipped a hand in his jean pocket to feel for his wand, wondering if he knew a spell that could help him in this situation. It was unfortunate that his mind was spinning and utterly confused otherwise he might have. Sami took his hand out of his pocket and began running it through his hair nervously.
He calmed down when she began to speak more softly. Sami agreed that she was like Natalie but at least this girl was not standing so close. Suddenly feeling a large lump on his head, Sami quickly withdrew his hand from his hair and stared at his hand in shock. A smudge of blood lay on the tips of two fingers. The injury wasn't too bad and he knew his head would stop bleeding very soon but what shocked him was the mere fact that the wall had hurt him so. He glanced at Natalie behind him, amazed at what had happened. Realizing he should reply to the other girl, he turned to her again with a sheepish smile. "No, no, she's great," he began and paused before continuing, "Well... it seems like I'm the one that got a good knocking to the head, actually," he finished and sighed as he wiped his blood-stained fingers on his jeans.

Olivia blinked looking at the Ravenclaw when he responded back to her jest of knocking some sense into Natalie. “Seriously?” she asked, glancing over the statement about Sami being the one to get his head knocked around. “Normally people complain about invading their personal zone or whatever, but that’s just Nats being Nats. She doesn’t many any harm…” Olivia trailed off as her eyes flickered to her best friend as she was speaking of her. For a moment Olivia felt as if she had been slapped at the pissed-annoyed expression the other girl was directing over to the pair of them. She sent the other girl a confused expression as if asking, what, what I’d do??.
The Gryffindor frowned, completely uncertain what situation she had inadvertently walked into. If Olivia wasn’t already certain that her friend was crushing heavy on a certain Ravenclaw chaser she would almost think that she was crossing some romantic boundaries, but that was rather impossible, right? It was just Natalie being childish about something, surely? Olivia shook her head to empty her mind of that thought pattern, completely ignoring Sami for the past few moments as her mind just went in its own sort of circle like direction before arriving back to where she was.
“So… coffee? Tea? Whatever’s your poison?” she then said, perking up. Without much warning, she swung an arm around Sami’s shoulder, turning him about face, and just sort of sweeping him along in her own ambition. “Let’s go to the Café! I don’t know what your twos’ problem is, but surely it can be solved over a cup of Joe!”
“Hey Nats! We’re going to Corner Café. You coming?” she all but demanded, sweeping her other arm out to lasso her friend into her little group, so that she was sandwiched between the two.

what I want you've got and it might be hard to handle Natalie eyed the pair standing in the hall, wondering what they were talking about. She sighed and decided that staying angry or upset was exhausting in the long run, not to mention that it was boring and incredibly unnecessary. So what if Sami couldn’t handle occupying the same space as her, he was being silly and rude and she would not sink to his level. Besides, she wasn’t even sure why he had left in such a hurry, maybe if she stopped being pouty and just plainly asked him what had crawled up his pants, then maybe she would get a straight answer out of him.
The blonde stood swaying on her toes and heels, back and forth, in boredom while she waited for whatever was taking Olivia so long. She closed her eyes for a moment, painting hearts in her mind. She decided that the best way to not stay angry with Sami was to think of something pleasant. She thought of chocolate chip cookies and how she loved eat them; she couldn’t cook or bake for the life of her. She would eat them all and never give it to dogs because that could upset their stomachs. She thought about puppy dogs and how desperately she wanted to own one once she moved out of her dad’s house. She thought about how she wanted to move out soon and how she wanted her new apartment to look like, what to do with the place, how to decorate it. She thought about all the parties and get together with friends that she would have. She thought about how it might be to one day live with a boyfriend. She thought about boyfriends. She thought about boys. She thought about Tobin. She smirked.
Suddenly, without warning her arm was linked to someone else’s arm and she was pulled away. Natalie’s eyes flung open and she took in what was happening. Apparently Oliva had seen it best that the three of them should go and have a drink together. Natalie blinked, trying to keep up with Olivia’s phase, and although her mind didn’t quite process what was happening, her body did and she happily kept up with Olivia without stumbling too much. “S-sure!” Natalie managed to reply, a dazzling smile forming on her lips as they walked, arms linked, through the corridor. "Yes, of course I am!" Natalie insisted a little stronger than before, having finally caught up to the moment.

All Sami needed was a hero to sweep him off his feet and carry him away from everything and everyone. But of course, he would never admit to such a thing. It didn't help that he was starting to remember the second girl as well, recognizing her as a female in his classes. So if he were to run off it would be tremendously embarrassing when he saw both Natalie and the Gryffindor - yes, he remembered her house! - later. Sami groaned mentally with frustration. He had always detested social norms and now he was stuck in a social situation with females no less. He was also bleeding which didn't bother him so much but he was still astounded that it had even happened. He glanced at the two girls. Next time, he needed to travel with a group of male friends. Perhaps they would be less inclined to approach him then.
The Gryffindor didn't seem to have heard him as she replied, again asking him to the cafe. He didn't know how else to refuse them. Sami thought he had already made it clear that he did not wish to go. He blinked, confused at her response. Had she not heard him? Before he could open his mouth to reply, she swung an arm around his shoulder and dragged him along the hallway, calling out to Natalie. At first, he froze and went along as they walked towards Natalie. But once his head cleared and he realized that a girl had an arm around him, his eyes widened and alarm bells began to ring inside his head. He attempted to walk backwards but in fear of making a scene and possibly hurting the much shorter girls, he went along. He bit the inside of his cheek as Natalie decided to come along as well. What was happening to him?
"U-um, well, I really can't you know... Allergies... Hives... Itchiness... It happens to me," he managed to stutter. He was beginning to sweat a little with nervousness which he hadn't noticed yet either.

Olivia could be the most oblivious person in the world to things, however, she could also be the most observant person as well. It really all depended on the situation and her own attention span. Admittedly, said attention span was very short and she was very easy to distract, but that was beside the point. The girl had been less attuned to Sami at their run in, thinking still mainly of her future destination and how it would be nice to have company. She had seen Natalie, and Sami had asked if she knew her, so naturally she concluded they all should go get drinks together. Really, what was so wrong with that? She had no idea what had happened between Sami and Natalie earlier, since she had came too late for that encounter. But still.
Even Olivia could pick up on somethings. Or rather, Sami’s insistence of being negative would eventually needle its way into her brain. They had made it to the staircase with Sami stuttering his attempts at trying to dissuade the girls from taking him with them. Olivia stopped abruptly, slipping her arm from Natalie’s as she turned to Sami. The Gryffindor placed both her hands on Sami’s shoulders, looking him square in the face.
“Okay, Sami,” she stated, taking the direct approach, unaware it was something Natalie had contemplated earlier while watching the two of them. “What’s the deal here? We don’t bite. I don’t know what’s going on between Nats and you, but I just want some company for a drink at the Café. What’s so dangerous about that that you’re spouting off nonsense about Itchiness, unless you’re allergic to girls. So spit it out, as you’re being very mean to us when we’re just trying to be nice here,” the Gryffindor gave a small pout, completely unaware that she was being mean herself to the poor Ravenclaw in that moment, but oh well.

Natalie was somewhat of a ditz, and sometimes, more often than not, she needed to think a little longer on things that others to realise what had happened. She was having a revelation as they were walking, and it made her think a little about Sami and why he was so awkward around them. Was it possible, could it be, that the reason he was acting so strange simply did stem form the fact they were teenage girls and that he was a teenage boy. She had read and been told that boys and girls were different and might experience stuff differently from each other. She wrapped her brain around it, thinking that it made perfect sense. He was awkward around girls. It suddenly made her view everything that had happened in a different light. She glanced at Sami with empathy. She felt a little sorry whatever awkward phase he was going through, and was glad she did not have one. Yes, that might seem a little pretentious, but the Dunham women were a different lot. They didn’t really grow the same way other women did. After all, sometimes it seemed that Catherine was going through puberty now, and she was in her twenties.
The blonde turned her attention to Olivia as she spoke, and she could completely relate to her words, had she not had her little epiphany. She wanted so badly to be able to talk to Olivia non-verbally there and then, to tell Olivia what she thought she knew now, without having Sami know that she knew. She would try and “save” Sami once more. “Hey Olivia, maybe we should do something different, you know, some girl stuff,” she tried, thinking it might be a good idea to let Sami go, as he kind of looked like he was going to be sick.

Sami racked his brain for a spell similar to conjuring a black hole. Perhaps it could suck him away and spit him out somewhere else. Perhaps he had read something somewhere but he couldn't think of anything at that moment. He wished he could slip through the ground and arrive elsewhere like a ghost. Girls had always confused him so he always felt awkward around them alone. Maybe if a group of his guy friends had been around, he might have been able to behave more normally than he was now. The boy was aware that he probably seemed like a mess of jumbled words and sweaty nervousness, a side of him he never wanted to be public. But the damage was done now.
He stopped resisting the Gryffindor’s pace and simply gave in, dragging his feet along. Sami decided then that there was probably no way out now that the two girls had decided on taking him along with them. So, he needed to adapt to this foreign and completely unfamiliar situation. Perhaps if he could choose the topic of conversation between them – something he was comfortable with of course – he might be more comfortable. He glanced at them very quickly. Would they even be interested in the religious struggle his hometown was facing? Would they know anything about Ancient Mesopotamia? Would it be weird if he said some things in Akkadian? The Ravenclaw briefly thought up a pickup line in Akkadian and smiled at himself, definitely amused at his own joke. He glanced at them again but suddenly the Gryffindor placed both hands on his shoulders and faced him square on. His smiled died instantly as he stared right into her eyes.
He froze in his spot, eyes wide, as she started speaking. The words were registering in his mind and he understood them all but the first thing that popped into his head was the fact that he had never been so close to a girl before for such a long period of time in one spot. He took the chance to observe the Gryffindor female. Did all girls have such soft features? He had never really noticed before. His eyes fell on her lips as they moved, still speaking to him. They weren’t exactly blood red like his but more like a shade of pink. Like Natalie’s panties. Sami turned red at the previous thought, bursting out of his frozen state just as the Gryffindor finished speaking.
He opened his mouth to speak – in reality, nothing would have come out of his mouth anyway – but stopped when Natalie jumped in. He blinked as she spoke, surprise written on his face, but he was grateful for her words. Perhaps she understood what had been going on in his head since meeting her. Sami realized that her understanding was even more embarrassing. When would the embarrassment end? Sami took two steps back and nodded as he did, reassuring Olivia that it was okay if they left. ”I-I’m… just sorry,” he managed to say, hoping it was enough for insulting the two girls. He did a final deep nod but it came out more like a half bow than anything. But he did not leave just yet. No, he wouldn’t leave like a scared dog with its tail between his legs. He waited for Olivia’s response, attempting to scavenge for any shred of dignity he still had left.

Olivia pursed her lips as she watched Sami’s reaction and as Natalie spoke up. She wasn’t certain what was all going on. However, she wasn’t about to make a big fuss over things. It seemed like everything was going to shits anyway. So instead, Olivia lifted her hands up off of Sami’s shoulders in a form of surrender. “Fine … whatever,” she stated, take a step back before dropping her hands. Truth be told, she wasn’t impressed with the situation. No, she really wasn’t. The Gryffindor still had no idea what had conspired between her friend and the Ravenclaw, nor what was passing through each of their minds.
“You know, you both need to learn to speak your minds,” she stated, her hands going to her hips. “Or grow a backbone and speak up,” she stated, looking at Sami. “As all you’re doing is confusing the living H out of me, and all I want is to get some coffee or maybe tea now,” she continued with a small pout. “So, do whatever you want, I’m out of here,” she stated, her tone basically saying she was done with both Natalie and Sami. She needed her caffeine fix and she was not in the right mood to be dealing with other people’s moods. She got that much, so her solution was to take herself out of the equation.
Without really saying or doing anything else, Olivia turned on heel and continued down her previous path, not waiting for any response from the other two students.

Natalie was growing restless with this bantering back and fourth between moods. She gave Sami and incredulous look, emotionally he was worse than a girl! She looked back at Olivia, understanding her friends need to just get away. This was getting strangely out of hand and she wasn’t even sure why she was bothered standing there. It had been fun at first, but now she was bored. She looked at Sami again. “Talk to you later,” she said cheerfully before turning in the opposite direction of Olivia and heading down the hallway. What an odd encounter.
