Rain, rain, and more rain. That had been the forecast for the last following days. Then add into the fact that winter was still in the process of leaving, and spring was moving its way in, lent into a very wet season so far. The ground squished under Toby’s feet, and the moisture soaked into the cuffs of his pants. However, his shoes stayed dried. The teenager had had a momentary epiphany to apply a moisture repel charm to the outside of his sneakers—too bad he hadn’t thought about in conjunction to the bottom of his jeans. His feet were staying dry, and that was really what mattered to the Ravenclaw.
The day was just too beautiful to really gripe and complain about the little things. After a long winter of being cooped up inside the musty old castle, it was a brilliant relief just to be outside with a clear March sky. There was a strong wind in the area that tousled Toby’s curls around his face. He really needed to trim his hair before his curls became completely unruly, but he just couldn’t be bothered lately.
All their professors had seemed to make a pact to pile on the homework within the last week. And it wasn’t quick and easy homework. No, it was the type that needed research and actual effort put in on the side of the students. Toby was smart, and if he had to put effort into finishing something, then he considered that work. He was Ravenclaw, yes, but he didn’t have the same sort of thirst for knowledge as some of his other house mates. Homework did not float his boat. No sir.
So, when he saw the day it was turning out to be outside, he said screw it, and made his way for the grounds. Sure, Professor Porter and Professor Dunham might be royally piss at him for skipping their classes, but the day was just too beautiful to waste it in a drafty dungeon or in a sweltering green house (actually, Professor Dunham was the type to probably take her class outside on a day like this, but whatever, it was all too late now, since her class was already done with for the day).
Toby took to the trails along the edge of the grounds, trying his best to stay casual. What he really wanted to do was just sprawl out on the grass, but even he was interested in soaking his back side. So instead, the youth had come to a halt, closing his eyes to just enjoy the wind on his face.
Definitely too nice a day to spend in class.
