hot rain & a cool breeze
It was already too late. Though Bébé loved a good game of quidditch in the heavy mud and rain, apparently the others did not. It was a quick pick-up game on the pitch with a mixture of house players and other students of all houses. The game was pretty friendly, except for a few spats about the rules, but it was a pick-up game, it didn't really matter who won. The mood changed with the first sign of sprinkling from the sky, which quickly turned into landing on the ground and packing up for the day when the rain started to hit hard. Bébé would have loved to continue, but only two or three others even seemed up for it.
Out of disappointment for her defeat, Bébé laid down on the ground where she landed and soaked her skin in the rain. There was no quidditch this week, and Bébé had been hoping for a does of good old fashioned sportsman like competition. At least, she tried to stay sportsman like. Sometimes adrenaline and the desire to win took over and Bebe got a bit out of hand. As she laid in the heavy rain, she began to day dream about being a professional qudditch player. Living out her life in glory, playing rough and tough with the big guns, never having a match canceled for weather. Never having to worry about finances, or lifestyle expectations. Her only real worry being getting to old, or facing an injury that would end her career. Hopefully by then she'd have found a nice rich husband to support her while she raised their children anyways.
Her dreams were not uncommon for a young Slytherin pureblood heiress. Even if she chose never to marry, she could be taken care of for the rest of her life. The family certainly had enough money saved up. However, that was disgraceful in Bébé's opinion, as well as her parents and many others. She was unsure of whether or not she'd even receive her inheritance if she never married. If she played quidditch professionally it might also tip her parents off the deep end and force their hand in disowning her. Perhaps anything other than marriage and house-wifedom was all a dream for Bébé, or perhaps even a nightmare.
The thrill of the game was too much for Bébé to ignore. Though she knew it was not at all lady like to get muddy, sweaty, and disgusting for a sporting event, she simply could not experience the same joy in any other situation. Sitting at home, knitting and cooking, it just wasn't the same. This made her summers unbearable. most of her time during the day was spent 'practicing' for marriage. Learning how to run a household and take care of her loving husband. Though these chores didn't phase Bebe anymore, she honestly didn't mind them, they just weren't fulfilling. Definitely not what she wanted to spend the rest of her life doing from day to day.
The air was cold, but the rain was hot. As the temperature shock stung her face with every drop, Bébé rolled her head to the side. Her track suit was probably ruined. No matter, it was certainly not her favorite. It was light green with small gems bedazzled along the zipper line on either side. The thing was not necessarily hideous, but green was far from Bébé's color. Purple was more up her alley. This was definitely no great loss. If anything, it gave Bebe an excuse to wear her favorite track suits more often, after eliminating yet another of her less attractive ones. Perhaps this one could even be saved for quidditch practice, when they know the weather has not been great. They didn't usually practice in the rain unless they needed to, but it was not uncommon to practice after the rain, when the ground was still soft, and any shuffle that ended with falling off a broom meant a face full of mud.
The quidditch pitch had all but emptied, save for a few wandering students heading for the salvation of indoors as quickly as they could. To Bébé's surprise, there was one figure, which she could not make out the identity or even gender of, standing not so far off. This surprised her because she was sure everyone from the game moments ago had already left. Had someone snuck up on her? Was this person there the whole time? And why were they just standing around in the rain, didn't it bother them?
