That morning at breakfast the usual chatter of students commenced, along with the scrambling of last minute homework assignments and social visits before the day commenced. The Great Hall was its usual busy self with students running a muck and then the great flock of owls with their usual mail runs. It had been weeks since she last recieved any piece of news from her family. Usually it was her grandmother who wrote to her to keep her in the loop when it came to gossip and news about the family. Rarely did she ever recieve anything from her mother and father but this lack of anything from them never caused her any heartbreak. They could care less about thier first child and Alice was accepting of this fact. Being born a girl had not been her fault but it was the fault of nature and whatever god her parents prayed to. Still it surprised her to see the family owl bring her a letter addressed to her, but then she opened it and soon saw it was from her uncle. He often wrote to her since they had become close during her summer visits. He ws the father figure she secretly longed for and often he felt like the only ally she had in the world. Upon recieveing the letter Alice folded it up and tucked it away in her school bag for later, then she left for her first class of the day. Her classes ran late into the day but she was glad to be done with them. The letter weighed heavily on her mind since she had yet to read it and usually letters from home where important. So at the first moment she got Alice disappeared from her usual crowd of Slytherins to find a more private location. The Demiguise Corner Cafe had been a favorite hiding spot of hers since her first year at Hogwarts. Every girl needed that one location to just block out the world for a few moments. As she approached the back counter she grabbed her typical drink and then moved to a quiet table off to the side. If someone were to interact with her then she would be willing but for now she was not making her presense known. Finally she was able to pull out the letter and just take in the contents written in her uncle's quill on the page. His words were professional and very matter of fact. He asked about her classes and how her grades were doing before mentioning how her grandmother was doing. Obviously Leigh Parker was old and her health had been on a steady decline ever since Alice could remember. All Alice every wanted was for her grandmother to hold out until she could be there. In her family, Leigh was the matriarch and the loveing mother figure that Alice had grown close to as a child. Still the letter continued on and Alice lost herself in the words that he wrote. For that moment she was so focused on what he was telling her that she cut herself off from the world around her. His wording changed as the letter went on and he sounded more concerned about her. The tone of concern confused her since no one showed any sort of concern in the Parker family. She remembered one time when David showed concern on Alice's sleeping habits, her father just told David to "Stop showing your muggle side". It shut him up real quick and Alice never heard him speak in a concerned tone since. He was always so professional and strict when he spoke. Obviously something was wrong or something was bothering him. Finally she set down the letter and wrapped her hand around the cup of coffee in front of her. Her gaze focused in on that cup of coffee as she felt the weight of her concerned uncle begin to affect her.

Ellie had woken up with a terrible headache that morning. She abruptly awoken, jolting up in a sitting position. In front of her blurred images swirled in front of her and she could feel the dream still lingering in the cusp of her imagination. A flash of dark hair and a pair of cold, wild eyes. It had been her mother. The dream had put Ellie in a foul mood. It had been some time since she had last had a dream about her mother and her return to her most vulnerable state of mind had been not a pleasant one. With an annoyed growl Ellie had gotten out of bed and gotten ready for the day.
Hogwarts. It had been her brother’s idea to change schools. Ellie couldn’t understand her brother’s motives to move in with their father again and change school, what had been so bad about Durmstrang anyway? The teachers had been strict and skilled and she had been allowed to learn the crafts of dark magic. Ellie was well aware that dark magic was like a double-edged sword, but if she managed to control it she was sure she would be able to use it for good. Hogwarts did not teach the dark arts, which annoyed Ellie. It had been one of her most favourite subjects at Durmstrang. Here she was barely allowed to whisper the words in fear that someone would get offended or hurt. Ellie scoffed at the idea. Only weak people thought that way, she thought as she rushed down the moving stairs. It had taken her months to learn the complexity of these idiotic stairs. Honestly, what was the point of moving stairs, did it not encourage tardiness and confusion? Oh, another element of annoyance to her day. The brunette rolled her eyes and hissed in frustration as the stairs moved again. Much to her chagrin it took her another 7 minutes to get to class. Good thing she was always early.
As the day dragged on her headache got worse. The day just seemed to be one of those days where everything was stressful and wrong. After the first lessons she decided to try and take it down a few notches. Environment was important for a balanced day, and although she rarely ever took advice on silly health issues regarding mental stability or environment, she felt that a change in phase might do her well. She ended up at the corner café and instantly felt a little more relaxed as she smelt the scent of coffee drifting in the air. She sighed audibly and got her coffee. She turned around and was just about to leave when she felt someone step on her. “Bloody Merlin’s beard! Watch where ya goin'!” Ellie snapped ferociously, tinged with her Scottish accent. She gave the younger boy a harsh look. There was just something about her eyes that seemed to chill the very core of people. Her cold, emotionless eyes, it was eerie. No matter how angry she might seem, or how annoyed she feel, her eyes remained a cold, dark void.

Hogwarts had been the school that had trained all of the Parkers in her family. Her father, mother, uncle, grandmother, and grandfather had attended and all had been placed in the house of Slytherin. Alice was doing her family a good deed by continuing to remain in the proper house and keep up high marks. The Parker name was a strong name and it always had been in England until her uncle showed up on the door. It dropped the level of respect and it was up to Alice to return the family to the proper position in society. Which is why her uncle’s concerns we well placed since Alice had a great deal of pressure on her from everyone around her and it never allowed her to relax. Of course she could appear relaxed and appear like she was having fun but the anxiety inside of her was slowly tearing at her flesh and melting her mind into a puddle of useless goo. All she needed was a nice off from the anxiety or just someone to take her mind off of the world around her, but she got no such break from herself.
Her hands were warmed from the cup and her gaze remained there despite how many students seemed to pass her. They all seemed to ignore the quiet brunette which was funny since normally she walked through the halls and people knew her. People stepped aside and they watched as a true and prideful pureblood walked through the halls with every bit of confidence that she could muster. Now they walked past her as if she did not exist or as if they had no interest in her. It wasn’t until she heard a fellow female from Slytherin curse out a younger student who happened to get in her way. Alice did not observe the foot stepping but she assumed that the female had right to curse out the idiot boy who got in her way. If the situation had been reversed then she would have completely done the same as the girl. Her eyes moved from the poor scared boy that quickly scampered off to the actual female that had done the yelling. All she knew was that the girl was a fellow Slytherin girl but she was new to the house this year. However they did not share any classes, which lead Alice to believe that she was either a year older or a year younger than herself. Secretly she doubted that she was a younger student but it confused her that someone would move to Hogwarts for their final year. But the look in the girl’s eyes did not scare her. The cold look was one that she was familiar with because of her grandmother expect her grandmother had ice blue eyes. The brown eyes of the girls were closely examined by Alice for just a brief moment before she looked back down at her coffee.
It was rude to stare at someone and Alice was not interested in trouble. She did not wish to be seen by anyone with the letters that sat in front of her. Finally she picked up her quill and began to write back to her uncle ”Dear David,… your concerns…” and then she was at a loss again. Should she thank him and then politely remind him that she had it all under control? Or should she pour her heart out to him and beg for help and beg for a father that loved and cared for her. The idea of pouring her heart out in a letter seemed so informal and like she could deny it later by stating that someone else wrote it but her uncle would know. He always knew her lies and he would know if she lied about something like that. A frustrated sigh escaped her lips as she finally just pushed the parchment back into her bag for later. Tomorrow she would be more clear headed and tomorrow she could focus enough to lie to the man that acted like a concern parent. Now her table was clear, except for the cup of coffee that she had randomly taken sips from. It was now cooling off and was just above room temperature, which really was too cold for her personal liking, but she sipped on it anyways. Out of curiosity she glanced back towards the girl that had yelled earlier, just to see where she was.
(Sorry it’s a bit short)

Elinor had not been brought up in a home that encouraged coldness or emotionless expression, quite opposite in fact. The people she considered her family, her aunt and uncle, were the most loving and caring people she knew of. Unable to have children of their own they had gladly taken in the two siblings when they had appeared at their doorstep. The emotionless expressions (save for annoyance and other pleasantries) had simply become a defence mechanism. Her brother on the other hand was her opposite. Despite their past he had turned out of the better, a friendly and outgoing type of fellow. Elinor was not that lucky. In fact, she deemed herself unable for such luxuries. She couldn’t afford to be cheerful and trusting of every person she met. She saw it as a self-righteous thing, and the most selfless act she could ever do. In her eyes nothing was more important than her brother, he was the last real family that she had, and she would do anything for him. After all, wasn’t that why she had moved to this stupid school? She could’ve stayed behind at Durmstrang and finished her last year there, but to what cost? She couldn’t stand being separated from her brother, and he knew it. So, she hadn’t really had a choice when he had announced that they would go live with their father in England. A new chance, he’d said. A new start, he’d said. Ellie had frowned and furrowed her brow at this. She couldn’t protest. She couldn’t do anything to change either person’s mind, so she had grudgingly followed.
The tall brunette composed herself after her outburst towards the younger boy, who seemed to cringe just by looking at her. It was how she liked it. Why bother with silly pleasantries? This was not a soap opera where eyes met over steaming coffee and their heart leaped with lust and love. No, this was real life and in real life nothing mattered. Elinor looked up just in time to catch a pair of eyes looking her way. Elinor paid no attention to it but looked for a place to sit. The little café was already starting to fill and Elinor felt that for some reason sitting next to the person who had glanced her way would be the best for her. And so she did.
Elinor made her way towards the other girl, whom she now recognized as someone she had seen the common room, but aside from that she didn’t know nor cared whom she was. “Is this seat taken?” she asked. Pleasantries. She would sit down regardless of the other girl’s answer. It was just the polite way to do things. Elinor sat down and minded her own business. Honestly, this school, so full of English snobs. Elinor somewhat senses that this other, younger girl, was a snob by the way she held herself. Probably one of those stuck up pureblood, she mused to herself. But, normally in these kinds of situations purebloods would ignore those they deemed unfit for their presence. Snobs. But at least you were left alone, for the most part.

Purebloods never showed emotion… or so her father believed. Any hint of being upset was quickly removed from her face as soon as her father noticed it. In many ways he was just a bully that ran his house as though everyone were inferior to him. His had learned this trait from his own father and mother who were strict and unyielding when it came to emotion and silly things of that nature. Alice had never seen either cry under any circumstance but she did witness her own mother cry twice. The first time was the day that she gave birth to her son and Alice’s bother but tears of joy did not count in the world before them. The other time was when her husband struck her when he found out about her secret affair with a fellow pureblood. It wasn’t that she was unhappy in her marriage but she wanted something new since he got his fair share of women on the side. The doubt standard at its best in their world. But those were the only two occasions that she could recall her mother crying and it was even hard to recall how her mother’s face appeared. She assumed that her eyes showed fear and pain but also sadness in that her husband was stooping so low as to hit his only wife and woman that brought his son into the world. Of course how could she really understand how her mother felt since Alice had never been struck by her father or a boyfriend. Although it was not like she had a boyfriend or any prospects around that demanded her attention. Secretly she was a teenage girl and had such desires as to have the attention and affection of a male that longed to be close to her. But she knew that it was hard to be in a relationship with someone such as her. After all she was an insomniac from a scary family that would stop at nothing to ensure their own wealth and power in society.
No one would ever want her. No one in the world would want to put up with her and all of the issues that encompassed her brain. The lack of sleep drove her insane and showed her delusions that would scare anyone from their seat and yet she would sit there unyielding as she watched the scary creatures around her. It was like looking at a boggart that could not hurt you physically but mentally she was gone further than ever before. Her hand grabbed onto the quill yet again and she began to write to her uncle as the words seemed to come to her. ”your concerns have been taken into consideration but please know that I am… and now for the lie. ”taking care of myself and you should not be concerned.” How easy it was to lie on paper. Even from her own eyes as she reread her own writing she was able to believe her own words even more than she had when she wrote them. Of course he would still see past it but accept that she did not wish for any sort of help and for the moment he would accept this fate that she had chosen for herself while disagreeing completely. Sometimes someone needed that little bit of a push before becoming open and willing to accept help. If she was not interested then why would he try and give it to her? Alice need to hit rock bottom before she would admit defeat and secretly she hoped to reach that low point sooner rather than later. It was a struggle to keep herself going but if she still had the will power then she would continue onward.
Finally the girl that Alice had passed judgment on earlier was now standing before her and was asking for the available seat that remained at the table. ”No that chair is not taken.” She replied. The seat was more than available for her use and Alice did not care but she did care if the girl saw her letters. So she quickly packed those up and slipped the folded parchment into her bag for later that evening when she had some privacy. Truth was that Alice only acted the part of the snob when she needed to. The reality was that there was a softer side to Alice that view ever got to see because she kept it hidden away under lock and key. Mostly she did not care about the whole pureblood thing but it was her father’s ideology that she was forced to follow. A person’s worth was more dependent on their contributions to society and not on if they were able to be born into a proper family but again Alice kept her opinions hidden away.

Elinor had not bothered taking the time to get to know anyone yet, not that she normally made it her quest to find someone to share an afternoon with, no, afternoons were mostly best served alone or with her brother. However, she knew her life choice was sometimes brining her brother down. He was so unlike her in every single way, from his personality to the way he looked. She was dark, he was blonde, he was outgoing, she was isolated; she was not surprised that most people couldn’t even imagine that they had come from the same parents. Sometimes even she wondered. Sometimes she was in awe of him. Sometimes she was ashamed of herself for doing that to him. Elinor knew that her way of handling life was not exactly the easiest, but it was the safest, in her opinion. It was her choice to isolate people from her life, and it wasn’t really that hard considering that most people annoyed her just by existing. Like this snob here, sitting in front of her like she was so much better than her. Elinor had never understood the societies’ need to glorify a few individuals who were more or less just born into something than to have earned the glory that they took upon themselves. Glory and respect was not inherited through blood, it was earned through achievement and individual accomplishment and power.
Through the corner of her eye Elinor saw a flash of the girls haste to hide her letters. Like she had any interest in other people’s business. Elinor restrained a roll of the eye and took a sip of her coffee instead. As she sat she became aware of the quick glances that were thrown their way. She could see some glance at the girl and some glance at her. What an odd pair the two of them were, she thought. However, the stupid ogling of other people had never bothered Elinor. Let them look their fill! She did not control the space, however, if any of them dared to touch her or even speak to her in a manner she found unfit and quite frankly a waste of her time, she had no issue with letting that person know exactly how insignificant said person was.

When it came to the difference in siblings, the Parker siblings were a prime example of complete opposites coming from the exact same parents. Technically they had been raised in a similar manner but they had not been treated the exact same. It had been made clear to Alice from the time she was old enough to comprehend that her father loved her in public but did not actually care for her like he cared for her brother. Her brother was the golden child to both of his parents and Alice's mother's excuse to avoid her husband's advances. He had his son and his sole heir to the name of Parker and that was all that he ever wanted. As far as her ability to socialize with him... well that was awful at best. She was hostile and defensive when he was around and she acted every bit the part of a pureblood when she knew his watchful eyes were upon her. He would report any misguided step back to her parents and Alice hated to feel the wrath of her father as she failed to live up to his expectations. Her public shaming would one day bring her down and destroy the growth that the family had made since her grandfather's bastard son and her father would make her pay. She knew that fact to be true and she both dreaded and longed for the moment when he disowned her. Being disowned would mean her ultimate freedom.
After a quiet and intense moment of waiting for the other to speak Alice motioned to the chair. "You may sit down if you'd like." She added as an offer to the girl looking to share her space. A chair and maybe a pleasant conversation could be shared between them but Alice did not think she looked up at her new best friend. Best friends were nothing more than roles girls assigned to each other to make the others jealous and offended. "I don't think we've met... my name is Alice." She offered to at least start the conversation and keep it light. Concessions had to be made within conversations and Alice was willing to at least play the game for right now. She saw no reason to hate the girl unless one eventually presented itself.
((I am really sorry it took me so long to reply. I promise I will be better about it.))

For the most part Elinor minded her own business. In fact, she minded her own business so much that it made it hard for her to relate or care about anyone’s troubles but her own. In some ways that made her an incredibly self-centred person; apparently she was devoid of compassion or the ability to love or care about anyone but herself. In many ways it was partly true. She did find other people’s tedious troubles irreverent to her well-being or interest, and she did find most people unworthy of her time and affection. In a way she did set herself a little higher than most people. She was proud. She was mean. She was stubborn. She was ferocious, and intimidating. All of those things, she was. But she was also compassionate. Her weakness in life was her brother, whom she cared so much for she felt the need to sacrifice her own happiness just to make sure he would never see or feel the sadness she had seen or felt. Above all, his life was worth more than anything.
Elinor closed her eyes for a brief moment. She was tired. She hated to admit it. It made her feel weak to admit it, but she was. So tired. She was tired of pretending, of fending off people even though she mostly hated them all. No one seemed worthy of her time at all. They were all pretentious and born with ulterior motives. But it got lonely on this side of the fence. She was lonely. And selfish. And not selfish.
The voice of the girl sitting opposite of her broke through her silence and she tried not to glare as she opened her eyes and looked at the girl. Try to be civil, at least, Elinor scolded herself. She attempted a small smile, a mere flicker of a motion in the crease of her mouth. It was rather unsuccessful and it probably looked as if she had supressed a sneer. “Elinor,” she managed to say with a smooth, calm voice. Nothing of her inner turmoil ever did show. She simply looked jaded. “Are you a seventh year too?” Elinor inquired, not really interested in whatever house or year the girl belonged to, but social convention dictated her to at least keep a small appearance until it got intolerably tedious.
(ooc: Elinor is already sitting down, so I'm just going to pretend that Alice didn't ask her to sit down.)

Being weak was a terrible thing but yet everyone must have felt some sort of weakness during their lives. No one was invincible no matter how tough they acted but the fact was that someone act to catch them in their moment of weakness if they wanted to know the person's true nature. Alice had been weak before and she was still weak even as she sat across the table from a fellow student. The mask of strength that she wore was well placed and easily covered up her insecurities. The female across from her would have never known about the lack of sleep she got the night before or the insane nightmares that she often saw when she was wide awake. There was no need to speak of it with a stranger when that stranger had all of the potential to harm her with that sort of information but since the girl was new Alice doubted that she had those kinds of connections to the people around them. It was not a risk worth taking.
Being civil with one another for the short period of time that they shared a table was only acceptable. Alice would finish off her beverage and then disappear into a dark corner of the library to find the words to describe to her uncle the pain she felt daily. The pain within her mind that kept her drifting in and out of reality as the two sort of blended together around her. He would know what to do and he would help to fix her... or at least she hoped. "Its a pleasure to meet you Elinor." She replied in the typical formal fashion of civil conversation. "No... I'm a sixth year." She added and then sipped her coffee a bit more. "You are new this year correct?" Alice was smart enough to observer things like when an older student went through the sorting ceremony and when new students joined her house. Part of her longed to know why the girl transferred to Hogwarts for her final year of schooling but it would be rude to ask such a question. "Are you at least liking Hogwarts so far?" It was the more appropriate question to ask but honestly Alice did not care if the girl loved Hogwarts or if she hated it. The fact was that in several months she would be graduating and moving on while Alice still had another full year left here.
((Opps sorry about that!))

Elinor could only smile, ever so slightly at the other girl’s inclination of the pleasure of meeting her. It was a half concealed and half amused smile. Surely, she had not heard of anyone who had found her presence pleasing as of late. In fact, she almost made it her prerogative to make her presence as chilling and disenchanting as possible. The whole statement made Ellie feel like this girl was full of bullshit and she was inching away from either leaving or letting the girl knew exactly how far off the wagon she really was. Instead Elinor did something a little unusual. She was intrigued. How long this interest would last no one could tell, but for the time being she was amused and was half curious how far this girl would take social dictations of civility and charms.
The brunette kept her face devoid of emotion, although it might appear a little milder than usual. She was after all intrigued to a point where she refrained from raising a snide eyebrow in derision. “No,” the girl affirmed. “Hogwarts is confusing and people are too attached to these so-called houses,” Elinor said sternly. She had no taste for the rivalry between the houses, and found it ludicrously childish and unnecessary as it did not serve any educational purpose. Elinor had felt nothing of importance towards her own person being thrown into the masses and emerged as a Slytherin. The only thing that mattered to her was her grades and her little brother’s well being.

A smile... something that was so often faked for the sake of those around one's self and Alice was not immune to such formalities but honestly she hated the smile that she was cursed with. It reminded her of the way her fathers lips formed into such a thing and his were always involved with some sort of evil or wickedness that he was involved in. A smile for true pleasure had not been seen by Alice since she was a small child... yet now that was a lie that she told herself. Just the other day she had been interested in conversation with a hufflepuff who had a smile that made her want to smile right back. Something about the goofy look that lightened up his face made Alice's ice cold heart melt away to warmth that was unknown to her. It made her question herself and her choices a bit further but she was not bold nor was she brave enough to withstand banishment from her family. Of course her uncle would not stand for that but he was part muggle and did not quite understand her predicament in life. She was expected to do things and he was expected to stand there until his "mother" passed before disappearing with nothing since she would not leave him a penny. For a moment Alice wondered about the woman that gave birth to her uncle and if she ever regretted giving him up. After all he had accomplished so much in the magical world and he was well respected by the purebloods even if they did whisper about his blood status behind his back. If only that woman knew but then again she was probably not a kind individual since she gave up her child without any further contact with him. Her mind wondered as she thought about her own children that she one day hoped to have and if she could ever warm up to them despite all of the odd standing against her. Hell she could barely stand to look at her own brother without wanting to turn away in disgust of him and all that he represented to the Parker family. Being locked away at school with him had been extra challenging but she never understood how other siblings loved theirs so much.
Her thoughts interrupted by the harsh words that seemed to leave the other but they pulled her from her daze. How long had she been day dreaming this time? It was so embarrassing that she could barely keep her focus on anything other than getting lost in her family issues and the boy that told her to be honest. For once Alice had been honest with him and she had quite enjoyed the experience of sitting with him and speaking while exploring emotions that she did not use. "Well.. I am sorry to hear that. I guess it is a good thing that you are only here for one year then." She replied. Normally she was not the optimistic type but it seemed like the right then to say even if it offered little comfort to her. "Where there no houses at your last school?" She asked as she continued to maintain light conversation, although she still longed to know the reason for a transfer so late in the girl's schooling. It had to be good gossip or at least more interesting than the girls she was forced to interact with because of their status in life. It always seemed to be the same problems... boys or fashion or schoolwork. All problems that she could relate to but none in which she cared to discuss with the girls in her year in her house.

Elinor did not really pay attention to the other girl, she had no interest in getting to know her wher they ended up sharing secrets in the dark and braiding their hair. How depressing. No, the only reason Elinor had for sitting down next to this girl, Alice, was because it was the only one available. Elinor wanted to drink her beverage alone and sit silently, musing, or brooding, however you like it. Truth was, perhaps she was brooding, a little, about how incredibly unfortunate she had been with her life, but then again she didn’t feel right brooding, it didn’t come naturally to her. She was just strong, just strong, nothing brooding about that feature. She was strong for her brother, and herself. She didn’t have time to be bothered with angsty teenage drama about how neglected you were or how fucked up things were. God! That was just depressing and not like Elinor at all.
The brunette did not intentionally set her mind to be something, she just did what she wanted, and what she wanted was for this conversation to cease. “They had different arrangements*,” she replied without feeling. She missed her own school. She had actually managed to get something of a friend there, someone who cared enough about her to see past her icy exterior. Elinor wasn’t sure if they would ever see each other again, or even remain in contact. She knew she could be hard to reach, not that she made it any easier knowing this. Elinor let her mind drift, and she took a sip of her beverage again while her eyes wandered about the crowded room.
*OOC: I actually don't know what Durmstrang had, so I'm just gonna leave it at that.

Alice believed that she had lived a life of privilege compared to most people. Her house was large and luxurious with many rooms to hide away in and her family had money to spend on her but still she was not happy. All of the things her family could buy her would never make her happy. Still she wore the fancy clothing and the nice jewelry as it was expected but she knew that she had no reason to be unhappy. She saw herself as some spoiled rich kid who was bitching about nothing but in fact it felt like everything and no matter how she tried to stop herself she just couldn't. Her brother seemed to accept the part of the spoiled rich kid without any hesitation and he basked in the sunlight as though he were some kind of king within the family. He was treated as such after all. Maybe her problem really just lay with her brother and his treatment. Maybe if she just killed him then things could be better... assuming that they could get better. Then again she was not strong enough to do such a thing. Her body was weak and her mind lost in a dark haze of fuzz and racing thoughts.
The response was ice cold and Alice was smart enough to get the picture. Both seemed to be strong and powerful brunettes with ice to chill their hearts. Clearly there was nothing here for Alice and she slowly began to collect her things so that the other could use the table and chairs. "Well Elinor... it was a pleasure to meet you but I can tell when it is time to leave." She said as she picked up the bag and the letters that she had been reading and responding to. Her companion did not wish to continue and Alice understood that sentiment since she was not very interested in continuing on the one sided conversation. "perhaps we will see each other in the common room at some point." She suggested if only to seem friendly enough. Alice was not in the business of burning bridges to avoid contacts and maybe one day this girl would be of importance to her. The future was always unclear and enemies were not something she wanted more of.
Finally she turned and grabbed the cup she had been sipping out of. A quick toss and it was placed into the trash where she no longer had to think about it. Something about Elinor seemed to stick in her mind though. Mostly for gossip purposes since it was strange for someone to move schools for their final year without a scandalous reason. In time she might know but for now she was in the dark and did not care. Alice quickly exited the cafe and began the decent down the stairs and back to the common room.
