RPG RULES »
4. No Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus. Your character must have faults. They cannot be perfect. Nobody is, so keep your characters realistic.
5. You are not to God-Mode or the playing other people's characters unless you have explicit permission of the character's player.
6. Any and all special abilities must be applied for. This is not just to regulate special abilities for the abuse, but also to keep track of how many are within the Role-Play and whether they are being used responsibly. The vast majority of the Magical World of Harry Potter do not possess special abilities, so do not feel that your character needs to have one to stand out or to make your playing of them more interesting.
7. Do not post one line or two line RP posts. We are an Intermediate Role-Play site. Normally our members post at least 250 words per Role-Play post. This is not a minimum requirement but a general standard of our members' posting.[/ul]
MULTIPLE CHARACTER POLICY »
RPG YEAR »
At this time, RPG timeline will move based upon the present activity of members on the board. If activity is slow then the timeline will move slower, if activity is fast then the timeline [the month the RP is currently in] will change faster.[/ul]
ELECTIVE & CORE CLASSES »
-- ELECTIVE CLASSES ::
Students are expected to attend all Core Classes for their year, and those third year and above their chosen electives. Professors are required to post lessons, failure to do so will result in dismissal. Professors are required to label their lesson threads in the following fashion:
RESTRICTIONS »
2. Powers/Race: Powers/Race such as: being a metamorphagus, werewolf, vampire, animagus, Legilimency (mind reading) and Occlumency (blocking mind reading). Basically, any special power your character has, something that not everyone has, must be applied for! There is a thread for this in the OTHER APPLICATIONS sub-board. There is also an Abilities&&Races section of the Roster thread in the Application Information board which will detail if any of the Abilities or Races are closed to applications. Recall your character must be at least a third year to begin TRYING to become an animagus.
3. Minimum Age for Occupations: remember your character must show qualifications for holding any sort of employment. Be realistic in your Adult Character's occupation. A 23 year-old character would not be Head of any sort of Ministry department. A freshly graduated 17 or 18 year-old would not contain expertise information, but would probably go through a training period, especially in occupations like Healers, Unspeakables, and Aurors. These periods will probably be spent as a "Trainee" or "Intern," there are even the possibility of their attending a Magical College. Four years is the default training period on WD--unless differently specified by Canon. But overall, be realistic when it comes to your character's occupation and experiences. The Administration will not hesitate to question any discrepancies we see in the character's history and occupation choice.
4. Student Leaders: students wishing to be a prefect or head boy or girl will submit an application in the Other Applications board, and the administration will select those worthy of the position. Students must be fourth year or older to apply.
5. Teacher Assistants: Students may apply to be teaching assistants as early as their third year. However, students are not allowed to do any student teaching until their sixth or seventh year, and may only teach those in third year or below supervised by the Professor of the course. Students may also apply to be assistants in the Hospital Wing or the Counseling Center. Time spent as a Teaching Assistant will count in credentials towards their occupations after graduation.
Adult characters may apply to be a teaching assistant with requirements and restrictions to be decided between Professor and assistant, as well as their field of occupation.
6. Quidditch: Students must be second year or above to apply for their House Quidditch Team. Team Captains will be fifth years or above.[/ul]
